"4K1D" QSL card for Novolazarevskaya Base, penguin drawing on front, form not filled in, penned X over all the front, back has lengthy handwritten message inviting the recipient to join the Friendship Worldwide Radio Club, giving costs & mailing address in Israel. "4K2PGO" colorful Heyss Island (Остров Хейса, in Franz Joseph Land) QSL card from the USSR Geophysical Observatory there, used July 1991, excellent condition. "BELLINGSHAUSEN / 4K1F" shortwave (10 MHZ) QSL card used at the Russian Antarctic Base in 1994 by Ukrainian operator Yuri Chernikov. Penguin & simple map for location (South Shetland Islands, claimed by the UK as part of British Antarctic Territory & by Chile) on front, inconspicuous internal crease from the left front edge. $5.00 abr

"LU 1 ZA" Base Naval Orcadas shortwave (28 MHz) QSL card used 1987 by operator Dalmacio, a little wear along the right front edge. The location is a permanent Argentine naval base on Laurie Island, South Orkneys, part of the British Antarctic Territory (formerly a Falkland Islands Dependency) since 1962, and long disputed by Argentina. "South Shetland Islands / The 16th Polish Antarctic Expedition / HF0POL" shortwave (28 MHz) QSL card documenting 2 contacts by operator Zbigniew Kulczak in 1992. The Polish station, on Admiralty Bay of King George Island, conducts biological, meteorological & geophysical research on a year-round basis, coordinated by the Institute of Ecology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. $6.00 aemp
TRANSGLOBE EXPEDITION (United Kingdom). Continental-size black & white photo showing its DeHavilland Canada DHC-6 with Chubb & Mobil logos on it, exemplary focus & contrast.
