"4K1AFM" shortwave (10.1 MHz QSL card from an Antarctic Expedition to Russian Novolazarevskaya Station (Станция Новолазаревская) used October 1991 by operator Mikhail Fokin. Separated from the coast of Queen Maud Land by the Lazarev Ice Shelf. Maximum population of the base is 70. Two tiny spots of wear on the top edge & a tiny corner crease, penguin in front design. Front shown left. $4.50 ar. Same, but for a November 1991 contact, trivial upper corner wear, otherwise excellent condition. Back shown right. $5.00 ar ILLUSTRATIONS ADDED RECENTLY

"4K1D" QSL card for Novolazarevskaya Base, penguin drawing on front, form not filled in, penned X over all the front, back has lengthy handwritten message inviting the recipient to join the Friendship Worldwide Radio Club, giving costs & mailing address in Israel. "ANTARCTICA / Curtiss Wright T32 Condor, 1933" with artwork also depicting a whale jumping, unused continental postcard in vertical format, 2 tiny corner creases. Significant because the biplane could be fitted with skis to operate from snow or ice, or with pontoons to operate as a seaplane. $1.00 a ILLUSTRATION ADDED RECENTLY

"BELLINGSHAUSEN / 4K1F" shortwave (10 MHZ) QSL card used at the Russian Antarctic Base in 1994 by Ukrainian operator Yuri Chernikov. Penguin & simple map for location (South Shetland Islands, claimed by the UK as part of British Antarctic Territory & by Chile) on front, inconspicuous internal crease from the left front edge. $5.00 abr ILLUSTRATION ADDED RECENTLY

"HL1ASS" continental shortwave (28 MHz) QSL postcard used 1989 by operator Hahn Dong-Hee at the Korean Antarctic Station on King George Island (South Shetlands, British Antarctic Territory). View on front is a Jeju / Jejoo Island landscape done by artist Park Zin-Kyung. Call sign on back is HL5BDS. Two tiny corner creases & a tiny ding in one edge.

"LU 1 ZA" Base Naval Orcadas shortwave (28 MHz) QSL card used 1987 by operator Dalmacio, a little wear along the right front edge. The location is a permanent Argentine naval base on Laurie Island, South Orkneys, part of the British Antarctic Territory (formerly a Falkland Islands Dependency) since 1962, and long disputed by Argentina. Seldom seen & most unusual. $10.00 m(a)baa

"LU1ZC" Destacamento Naval Decepcion QSL viewcard in 2 panels, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Deception Navy Attachment & giving its history in some detail, also providing information about the Radio Amateur Auxiliary Service of the Navy & the Argentine Group of CW - GACW. Deception is an island in the South Shetland Islands near Antarctica. Their sovereignty is disputed by Great Britain (who claims them as part of the British Antarctic Territory), Chile (who claims them as part of Antártica Chilena Province), & Argentina. One corner has 2 long creases. Rare & exceptionally interesting.

with map publicizing that country's claims to Islas Shetlands de Sur, Islas Malvinas, Islas Orcadas del Sur, Argentinean Antarctic Territory, etc.; used 1954 by operator Roberto P. The Polish station, on Admiralty Bay of King George Island, conducts biological, meteorological & geophysical research on a year-round basis, coordinated by the Institute of Ecology of the Polish Academy of Sciences. $6.00 aemp

TRANSGLOBE EXPEDITION (United Kingdom). Continental-size black & white photo showing its DeHavilland Canada DHC-6 with Chubb & Mobil logos on it, exemplary focus & contrast. "VP8GAV" shortwave (10 MHz) QSL viewcard used 1992 at Faraday Base on Galindez Island (Argentine Islands, Wilhelm Archipelago). The oldest permanently occupied base in Antarctica, known for its stunning scenery, is now simply called Faraday Antarctica. $7.50 a NEW / NOV / ÚJ
