Durfee / Forest, O." showing the #1 New York Seattle Racer paused outside of Pfeiffer' Garage with steam emanating from its engine; the neighboring tin shop signage plain & at the far right a sign 'VICTOR TALKING MACHINES SOLD HERE' over the trademark dog sculpture at the bottom of the window. The name of the local photographer Durfee is embossed in script lettering at the right bottom front of this unused AZO (triangles up) real photo postcard. Ford won the race in connection with the Alaskan Yukon Exposition (in Seattle) with its #2 racer, which resembled #1 (except possibly for a wider track), and which was subsequently disqualified & the subject of ensuing law suits. Depth-of-field & contrast are good, as are the edges; light album impressions at the corners. For more information see the Automobile Quarterly, Volume 10 Number 4 (June 1909), pages 378 -  383. CUTTER & SONS, BU'S, HOT SPRINGS, ARK" unused black & white postcard from the undivided back era.  Surface scrapes near all but the left edge, so very little is obscured; in fact ours has a clearer image of the entire ship than in the Alabama Mosaic Collection. Hard to find; we saw it auctioned only once. This wooden hull packet was lost in a hurricane in September 1915. Sold but front still available for scholarly study & research as an enlarged (about 771% of original print area) & enhanced 200-dpi scan in .jpg or .tif format. $2.00 a(m)s(r)gg%

"GREETINGS FROM CHINATOWN, NEW YORK" with the corner of Pell & Mott Streets at the left; linen postcard sold at the Ethel Hing gift shop (violet cachet clearly struck on back), mailed 1950 at the Canal Street Station to Mr. Harold Quin in New Haven Connecticut. Many legible signs including York Kitchen Equipment Co., Mon Fong Wo Co. (Chinese Groceries), Lee's, Wee Tung Co., Sugar Bowl, etc. Tiny ding at center of left front edge, otherwise fairly fresh. $6.00 n(n)g(h)g(q)c
