Conway in Andover Mass, L. & E. Serie 2272, trivial corner wear & rounding. We have only seen this auctioned once in 31 years of dealing. $25.00 h

"The NATIONAL NEWS / Oil Trade Journal / Copyright 1917 / Halloween" complete 20-page staple-bound advertising brochure from the National Refining Company in Cleveland Ohio. Advertised EN-AR-CO Motor Oil, National Light Oil, White Rose Gasoline, EN-AR-CO Motor Grease, KO-REK-TIV White Oil for constipated children & adults, Black Beauty Axle Grease, Black Star Harness Oil, National Harvester Oil & National Black Asphaltum Paint. Cover with October 1917 calendar & drawing of child carving a jack-o-lantern in a pumpkin patch. Front handstamped 'Presented by F. R. Stephens' has a little toning at the bottom; back cover has a small scrape obscuring nothing. Interspersed with seasonal jokes, cartoons & drawings, which were probably the reasons most recipients took them or read them. Published over many years: we  have seen 1911 to 1923. Size is about 6-1/4"x3-1/2, so fits in most continental postcard sleeves. Seldom offered generally ... Halloween issues, rarely. $22.50 hcoa
