"GUEREZA _ HENDAYE-PLAGE" picturing André Marchal, blind from birth but one of the greatest organists of all time, seated at his 2-manual mechanical-action organ by Victor Gonzales at his villa Guereza in Spain; continental in size, the card was long used for personal family correspondence (we have seen one mailed in 1961). The message over all the back was no exception, and reads in part 'For us 1980 has been very sad with the death of my father in August on the Basque Coast _ There is a good article in Jan. issue of the American organist on him...' Notice how the card does not name him; you are supposed to know who he is! Now have a good look at the organ ... in his villa! SALE IN PROGRESS mgi(h)
