Seldom seen & most unusual. $10.00 m(a)baa
AUSTRIA. "KAPELLE ALPENJÄGER-REGIMENT STEIERMARK No 10" showing the Austrian military wind orchestra after Friedrich Pilz (probably the man in civilian clothes at the front center) was recruited as the capellmeister of the Alpine hunter regiment No. 10 in 1923; sepia-tone real photo postcard with slight surface pitting & oxidation consistent with that age, back with light spotty toning. Rare: we found no other offers, no exhibitions, and no recorded sales when we searched the Internet. $10.00 a(s)mm(a) NEW / NOVA / NOU

BRAZIL. "Passing Fort Santa Cruz, Entrance of Rio Harbor" unused Azo (triangles up, 1904 - 1918) real photo postcard, published by Brown & Shaffer in Newport News Virginia, album marks at the corners of both sides. Brazil tried to maintain neutrality at the start of World War I, but torpedoing of its ships by German subs resulted in their joining the Allies in October 1917. On August 1 1918, after the Allies had squabbled over their usage, the Brazilian Navy departed from the port of Rio de Janeiro to work closely with US forces in the Atlantic -- rather than working with the Italians in the Mediterranean, or with the French along the African coast. We dare say this explains & dates the postcard precisely, because US ships would have been in attendance. History in your hands! $25.00 m(b)bwBRAZIL.
