"LIEU DE LA CONVERSION DE S. PAUL / (BAB-CHARKI - - SAKHRA)" at Bab Sharqi or the Eastern Gate of Damascus. Showing the interior of the church now in Syria where Saint Paul, travelling on the road to Damascus, was said to see & be blinded temporarily by an appearance of Christ. The cure of that blindness completed his conversion from Judaism to Christianity; thereafter, he wrote several epistles now included in the New Testament. Unused real photo postcard with high contrast, undisclosed publisher. Rare: when searching the Internet we could only find one view of the place & that was its exterior.
